How we make our school an exciting place to be for our pupils:
- First Steps is the latest new and creative way of learning to read and write.
- Jolly Phonics is innovative programme endorsed by the Department of Education and Science and is a proven effective method to teach phonics to young children. Teachers think that it is working and children have already given it the thumbs up!
- Maths time is fun time as the children engage in lots of hands on activities with the help of extra teachers and parents.
- Drama is a time to be creative and let your imagination grow and develop with the guidance of our special drama teacher.
- Wednesday is Irish Dancing Day, time for your aon, do, trí!!
- Friday is cookery day, watch out, you might be picked!!
- Paired Reading is from 8.40am each morning, we are always looking for more parents to get involved.
- Breakfast Club every morning at 8.40am.
- Reading Recovery is a fantastic individualised programme for very young children to help with those first steps to reading.
- Each class gets an opportunity to lead our monthly assemblies. Here we celebrate our achievements and talents together.
- We have an After Schools Club which starts in our second term when the weather is better and we go out and explore Dublin together.
- We have access to a team of interpreters to help parents and children for whom English is a second language. They are available to attend Parent teacher meetings.
- We have a state of the art computer room. All the children go there daily. We have programmes like RM Maths and Reading Coach where the children work at their own pace.
- Junior Achievement Programme runs from Senior Infants to 1st Class where adults from the corporate world come to share their knowledge and expertise with the children.
- We currently hold a Discover Primary Science Award of Science Excellence. We hope to renew this award again this year with alot more hard work! This involves numerous experiments conducted in the classroom. Visitors are invited to come in and talk/give demonstrations to the children about Science related topics. We also host a Science Open Day. Take a look in our photo gallery!
- Our Student Council works hard on behalf of the students of our school.
