Healthy Eating Policy

We promote healthy eating in our school as a child’s diet is very important for their overall well being.

Every child is invited to Breakfast Club which begins at 8:40am every morning. We offer hot toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit and fruit juices. Extra help from parents is always welcome!

Break Times:
Morning Break:10:30am-10:40am
Lunch: 12:30pm-1:00pm

Suggested Lunches:

Fruit, sandwiches, baps, rolls, bagels, scones, pittas, yoghurt, water, fruit juices. If you are looking for ideas to help you fill your child's lunchbox leaflets from the Health Promotion Unit of the HSE are available in the school. Junk foods like sweets, biscuits, crisps, cakes and fizzy drinks are unhealthy and therefore have no place in our lunchboxes.

Tasty fresh sandwiches, fruit and milk are provided in the school free of charge for the children.

Green Schools Initiative:

As part of our Green Schools Initiative we ask all our children to bring home any rubbish they may have from their lunch. We suggest that they use a lunch box. In our school we realise the importance of taking care of our environment and we aim to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
